code of conduct

Effective Date: 05/13/2025

At Altitude Advantage Performance Coaching (AAPC), including all programs under the RISE initiative, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and values-driven environment. This Code of Conduct applies to all coaches, participants, trainers, medical staff, parents, RISE members, and all other personnel involved in any capacity with Altitude Advantage.

1. Scope of Conduct

This Code applies to all activities, both in person and online, across the entire Altitude Advantage organization and the RISE Program.

2. Core Values & Expected Behavior

All individuals are expected to uphold the following values:

  • Valuing your own and others’ mind, body, and spirit, regardless of disability or differing ability

  • Honesty, respect, caring, and integrity

  • Ownership of one’s actions and commitment to growth

  • Altruism, humility, and compassion

  • Encouragement, support, and love for the game

  • Open-mindedness toward others’ experiences and perspectives

“You are responsible for how you show up and how you conduct yourself.” All participants, staff, and parents will be held to the standards outlined in this document.

3. Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Any words or actions involving homophobia, transphobia, racism, or xenophobia

  • Bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct, or cheating

  • Unsafe behavior that endangers self or others

  • Unlawful practices or violations of federal, state, or local law

Failure to follow directions or comply with the code will result in the following disciplinary process:

  1. Verbal warning

  2. Written warning

  3. Removal from participation, employment, or association with AAPC

Severe misconduct, as determined by the owner of AAPC, may result in immediate removal without compensation or warning.

4. Safety & Mandatory Reporting

  • Mandated reporting is required for any known or suspected abuse involving children, adults, or the elderly.

  • Injury reporting must be done on-site to a supervising medical or coaching staff member.

  • Relationships between adults and minors must remain strictly professional. Any inappropriate conduct will result in immediate removal and may result in legal action.

Reports can be submitted to:

5. Representing RISE

To represent RISE means to:

  • Reach for your goals

  • Inspire others through action

  • Support your community and teammates

  • Elevate your mind, body, and spirit through sport

6. Expectations by Tier

  • Catalyst: Entry level. Begin exploring and adopting the RISE mindset.

  • Facilitator: Demonstrate leadership by example and show mentorship to others.

  • Ambassador: Adhere fully to the code of conduct, sign the terms of participation, and contribute publicly to the community while honoring the mind-body-spirit philosophy.

  • Legacy: Fully embody the mind-body-spirit lifestyle, mentor others, and demonstrate consistent, public commitment to personal and communal growth.

“We are not looking for perfection or perfectly rounded individuals—it is the pursuit and the process we are looking for.”

7. Violations & Consequences

  • Violations will typically follow this process: verbal warning → written warning → removal

  • Violations involving illegal activity or severe misconduct may result in immediate removal without compensation

  • For youth participants, lenience will be applied where possible, using violations as learning opportunities. Ongoing issues like bullying will escalate to parent notification and potential removal.

8. Reinstatement & Redemption

Depending on the severity of a violation, participants may have the opportunity to return in good standing.

  • Children and minors are more likely to return after reflection and demonstrated learning.

  • Adults may face stricter standards for reinstatement. Demonstrated growth and accountability are required for re-entry.

“Accidents happen, lessons are to be learned, and if they are shown to learn and develop, they may return to participate.”

This Code of Conduct is a living document and may be updated to reflect the growth of our community and our shared pursuit of excellence in sport and character.
